Physics I have a Physics B.S., now what?

As the title says, I have a bachelor's degree in Physics. The question that's been haunting me for the last few months is... now what do I do? I'm serious. I'm thinking grad school is the way to go, its what I feel most inclined to do. Of course, I haven't been involved in any serious...

Vector Analysis: Bridging Math and Physics with Rigor and Visuals

Bowen's book posted by robphy is really good, if you're willing to deal with ugly typesetting and some typos. Edwards' book on advanced calculus with differential forms is a current project of mine, so I'll let you know how it goes. A more typical book on vector analysis though,is Marsden &...

Courses Online Math Courses: University Options

There's always http://ocw.mit.edu/OcwWeb/Mathematics/index.htm, another page I check every now and then is the Berkeley's Math Course Archive. Hope that helps.

    Help finding EE/Electric Circuit books

Yep, that one. It teaches you tensor notation and then uses it to do some circuit analysis. It's not something you SHOULD know, merely a curiosity you might say. At those prices I wouldn't buy it, I found mine in a pawn shop for about 5 bucks

Searching for Calculus-Based Physics, Stats & Advanced Calc Books

Well, I really like these: [PLAIN]"[URL Physics v1; Resnick, Halliday & Krane. 5th edition. https://www.amazon.com/dp/0471401943/?tag=pfamazon01-20 Those are the ones I used in my general physics courses. I remember putting a lot of effort into 'em (ie re-reading sections...

Is This the Ultimate Prep Plan for EE School?

Well, for one I think it's great you want to study some discrete math, should come in handy. With chemistry, I'm not a big fan but it is true that polymer semiconductors are a pretty big deal these days. Quantum Mechanics I think you should study more than that, maybe taking some serious courses...

    Help finding EE/Electric Circuit books

bob: Don't worry about a solutions manual, just go ahead and download pspice, or use the software included in Alexander's cd to check your answers. I found the best way to study a book though, is getting other people interested in it and comparing your solutions with their's. Hope that helps. I...

Math Is it Easier to Transition from Math to Physics or Vice Versa?

I'd just like to quote Mr Feynman here: Sorry to spam the thread, I just like quoting Feynman.

Apostol or Spivak? Which Math Book?

pivoxa15: the top of the exercise reads: Describe the fallacy in the following "proof" by induction  it IS wrong.

Apostol or Spivak? Which Math Book?

I think Apostol isn't THAT dry. I mean, you learn to like it. Oh, and there's a problem in the part of induction that just cracks me, I laughed so hard when I read it. (The "suggestion" made me laugh for about an hour.) I transcribed it for your enjoyment: LOL, induction is alright, but go...

Apostol or Spivak? Which Math Book?

heh, you guys misunderstood me. I've already taken my calculus courses, and use both Apostol and Spivak from time to time to refresh my memory and learn new stuff. The question was, which one do YOU prefer?

Are physicists looked down upon if

I used to dislike homework. I thought it was merely a way to increase the promotion of a hard course. I never did any, because I thought I was superior to everyone of my classmates, and instead focused on acing my tests. I passed the first couple of years of univ. that way easily... then I...
