Graduate The unit of atom scattering factor
Hi, I read in some papers which say the unit of atom scattering factor is e/atom. what is the meaning of that? thank you!- einstein1921

Graduate Can we make a circular polarization laser directly?
Now,we get the circular polarization photon using 1/4 waveplate, can we make a circular polarization laser directly through Stimulated Emission Radiation? or, when a electron transition from one level to another level, what kind of polarization of the photon, linear or circular? thank you!- einstein1921

Graduate Question about toroidal mirror
http://www.lasertechn.com/index.php/toroidal-mirrors in the figure, what does S’s – for the sagittal plane means? the distance between the image point and the sagittal plane ?? I see in some papers, they use toroidal mirror to collimate the beam from a point source, how does this happen and...- einstein1921

Graduate Does Diffracted Light Need to Be Focused or Collimated on CCD?
The question could be stupid, but It really confused me. when we capture spectroscopy using reflected grating and CCD, Does the diffracted light must be focused on the plane of CCD (using a plane grating),or it must be collimated to arrive the CCD.- einstein1921
