I don't really have an argument, I have a set of tentative assumptions backing a weak hypothesis. My intent was to provoke thoughtful conversation from which I could learn. But I have obviously failed and so will leave it with the general tacit assumptions behind the example scenario and my...
I was trying to give an example of the increasing "power" that technology bestows across domains and that projecting forward it does not look good to me.
I used to believe that before the attacks on 9/11 showed how deeply we are actually committed to privacy rights.
I truly don't like my...
The date of the (excellent) article to which you posted a link is "06/03/2010 01:43 pm ET" and the prognostication of the author was:

I only have a problem with it when there is a problem with it. Some degree of fame is essential to a successful career as an entertainer. There is little opportunity for if to engender conflict of interests in that context--no problem. But if one desires fame in a field where it is not...
Congratulations to you guys. I does seem to only get better with time. We're 40 years into it but its a second marriage for both of us. I guess we needed practice. In any case my wife gets all the credit. I have no idea how she has put up with me all these years. And off topic again.
