Getting Extinction cross section from Radar cross section using HFSS
Hi, Has anyone tried using the HFSS software to get the extinction cross section of a particle? I've been told that the extinction cross section of a particle is the imaginary part of the radar cross section in forward direction, so I did exactly what the RCS tutorial from HFSS did, except...- El Flea

Graduate How to solve 2nd order non-linear DE with exponential
Hi, Does anyone knows how to solve this 2nd order non linear differential equation with exponential components? d"V/dx" = A*exp(-B*V)-C*exp(B*V) where A, B, C are constants. Thanks- El Flea

Undergrad What is the Unit 'a.u.' and How to Convert it to SI?
Does anyone knows what this unit "a.u" means? I found it on many graphs, where "a.u" represents the unit of |E|^2 (E represents electromagnetic field). How do I convert "a.u" to SI unit?- El Flea

Converting Between Light Intensity and Irradiance: How Do They Relate?
Thanks! Isn't W(m^-2) the unit for light intensity? So, if I have, let's say, 1W(m^-2)(nm^-1) spectral irradiance, in the 400nm wavelength range, can I say that I have 1x(10^-9)W(m^-2) light intensity over the same area?- El Flea
