Graduate Materials on modelling phenomena with ODE/PDE
Well I am more looking for general principles but I am primarily interested in the area of systems biology atm. The questions I am interested in are things like: 1) How does one go about formulating a model? 2) How does one verify that the model is correct?- Excoriate

Graduate Materials on modelling phenomena with ODE/PDE
Hi, I am looking for some guidance w.r.t modelling real world phenomena using ODE/PDE/SDE type equations. Are there books which go into the issues of modelling real world phenomena with these sorts of equations? Thanks in advance, Excor.- Excoriate

What are some recommended textbooks for teaching myself physics?
Thanks I will check a few of those out from the library and see how I do with them. Would something like statistic physics I & II by Kubo be good for stat. mech?- Excoriate

Best Written High School Physics Text Books (SAT)
Hello, I made a post about this in the physics forum but I guess this is the correct place. I am looking for some books in the hopes of teaching myself some basic physics in order to understand some aspects of biophysics. My understanding is that I would probably have to review 4 basic areas...- Excoriate

What are some recommended textbooks for teaching myself physics?
I am looking for some textbooks in order to teach myself physics. My background in this area is rather limited. Many moons ago I did take a Physics C class as a junior in high school but beyond that I haven't really delved much into the subject. The topics I am interested in are classical...- Excoriate

Pursuing Mathematics at the post graduate level from a non maths background
Well that might be quite difficult at this point. I am quite a bit older now and I don't think I was in good academic standing when I left after as one of my instructors put it at the time deliberately "sabotaging my academic career". So I highly doubt that door is stlil open. I am curious if...- Excoriate

Pursuing Mathematics at the post graduate level from a non maths background
Well the issue with the second approach is- how do you convince ppl. you do know it if you do the preparations yourself? It seems also another issue with this would be getting recommendations. No one could attest to what or what you do not know or what your current skill level is. I think I will...- Excoriate

Pursuing Mathematics at the post graduate level from a non maths background
Hi everyone, I have recently been thinking about pursuing a mathematics degree at the Postgraduate level but unfortunately I feel I lack both the credentials and proper training/background and I was seeking some advice on how I might acquire it. My undergraduate degree is in Computer...- Excoriate
