    Is it possible to excite solid metal using radioactive material?

    I tried with laser diode. I'd like to use microwave tube in ultra low level but it need to calculate some value but is difficult. So, I'm thinking if I put on metal some radioactive too soft. If you know some material which it becomes radioactive when I powered it.
