Magnetic field measured by car magnetometer in body-NED reference frame

[SOLVED] Question about rotation and reference Hi, I solved reading on Wikipedia and following a few links on internet. Thank you for your help

MATLAB Fitting an ellipsoid to 3D points in MATLAB

If I'm not wrong, the kind of quadric depends on the sign of eigenvalues and, to have an ellipsoid, they must be all positive, doesn't it? Is there a way to avoid having non-positive eigenvalues? Is it maybe possible using a conditioned fitting? Thank you.

Magnetic field measured by car magnetometer in body-NED reference frame

Hi, yes, my problem is that the car, while running on the road, can go up/down a hill (pitch), or can have side slope (roll) or even not-zero yaw, pitch and roll angle at the same time and magnetometer readings are attitude-related :( I can't understand...sorry.

Magnetic field measured by car magnetometer in body-NED reference frame

[FONT="Arial"][SIZE="2"]Hi. Let's suppose to have a car with a reference system called Body-NED with its origin in the center of gravity of the car, Xb-axis (called North) pointing towards the front of the car, Yb-axis (called East) pointing towards the right door and Zb-axis (called Down)...

MATLAB Fitting an ellipsoid to 3D points in MATLAB

Thank you for your reply. The problem is avoiding the best fitting quadric to be an hyperboloid or other than an ellipsoid. Is there a solution for that such as an optimization problem with any constraints?

MATLAB Fitting an ellipsoid to 3D points in MATLAB

Hi. I have a set of samples with small white gaussian noise that form a small part of an ellissoid in 3D space. I'm looking for a way to find the center and the axes directions of the ellipsoid that best fits these samples. This is an overdetermined problem with much more 3d points than...

    Graduate Compass and Magnetic Susceptibility

Noone? I know it's possible to measure the Magnetic Susceptibility, while I am not so sure it's possible to simulate it: at least, can you tell me if it's possible (or not) and why, please? Thank you.

    Graduate Compass and Magnetic Susceptibility

Hi all, I'm Luca from Italy. This is the technical setting. Assuming we have a compass/magnetometer placed on something of general shape and material. The magnetometer feels the Earth's magnetic field that we call H_earth: we know, however, that the field measured by the...
