High School Why does the Earth move around the sun?
Sorry forgot something By the way, the sun is not fixed in space, it wobbles because of the pull from the planets.- FrankM

High School Why does the Earth move around the sun?
How lost am I? That is one of the stangest things I've ever heard. Just because something is not subjected to a "NET" force (notice what I did there with the quotes and capitalizing it?) doesn't mean it has no mass. I am not being subjected to a net force right now (meaning that I am sitting...- FrankM

Graduate Faster than light speed - No conflict between classical and relativistic motion
I didn't read through all the posts but let me make sure I have this straight: 1. You have two inertial reference frames A and B 2. A and B are separated by a boundary C. 3. Light moves through the boundary and because it is now in a different reference frame (according to the observer)... -

Cool stuff - Video Projected on Water Particles?
The screen is actually cascading water. I could be wrong about it being the same technology, but I am sure there are no projector screens, just shooting water.- FrankM

Cool stuff - Video Projected on Water Particles?
You can see this technology first hand by going to the Disney/MGM Studios at Walt Disney World in FL. They have a show called Fantasmic every night at the closing of the park. They show animated movies right on waterfalls during the show. It is quite breathtaking. My advise is to get there...- FrankM

Graduate Could Positive Magnetic Fields Help Sustain Fusion Reactions?
OK for some reason I can't get my point across. EM fields (at least those that are associated with a single particle like an electron) DO NOT CHANGE EVER! A field only changes with the amount of charge (meaning the amount of charged particles together in a system) and the distance you are from...- FrankM

Graduate Could Positive Magnetic Fields Help Sustain Fusion Reactions?
Chosenone-I almost can't keep up with the speed at which you are changing gears. Phase changes in matter is generally a chemical thing as opposed to a Nuclear thing. Melting, sublimating, freezing, boiling, and condensing all have to do with molecular bonding (I'm not a chemist so I could be...- FrankM

Graduate Could Positive Magnetic Fields Help Sustain Fusion Reactions?
This getting to be a lot of fun. Although I disagree with you Chosenone I am enjoying our debate. Anyhow down to business. OK the reason mass undergoes phase changes or freezes, melts, sublimates, etc is NOT because there are any changes in the forces that hold the mass together. It is...- FrankM

Graduate Pondering Paradoxes in Special Relativity
Actually I kinda didn't really mention length contraction either. That will make a difference as to where each reference frame measures where the photon is. I have a weird feeling about length contraction, I understand it in a general sense but the whole concept just creeps me out so I don't...- FrankM

Graduate Is the Speed of Light the Ultimate Conversion Point for Energy?
Darn I just went off on someone for bad grammar and I just reread my last post and it is sprinkled with mistakes. Disregard the last post and read this one... Since the Universe is expanding, the perimeter of the Universe is constantly changing; which by your reasoning, means that the rest...- FrankM

Graduate Could Positive Magnetic Fields Help Sustain Fusion Reactions?
OK...um first of all you should probably pay a little more attention to what you are writing. Your case will not be made with poor grammar and even poorer spelling (coming from me considering how badly I spell that is saying something). First of all an amp is not 6.28 * 10^18...- FrankM

Graduate Can Multidimensional Space Time Exist?
If I understand you then yes I do. If we can move in 3 space dimensions with no ill effects why can't others move in 3 time dimensions with no ill effects? It is a difficult concept to grasp but I kind of think if it like the book Flatland. There are creatures that think there is no third...- FrankM
