Undergrad Balmer's Equation: Simpler Calculation of Hydrogen Wavelengths
I did from Balmers and it works. I did what Rydberg did but in a different way that I think is a lot simpler- Gaz

Undergrad Balmer's Equation: Simpler Calculation of Hydrogen Wavelengths
So the Balmers constant is cool and easy to use compared to the Rydberg constant and I was looking for something simpler and came up with this. If you change the Balmers constant to B=91.126705 by dividing it by 2² (because 364.50682 is the Balmers series) and use the formula. Wavelength =...- Gaz

Graduate Moon Landing Q&A: Solar Winds & Astronauts
My question is simply a what about question. I neither believe nor dis-believe the moon landings I would like to believe there true but I ask because I am having a hard time believing the Van Allen belts would be much of a problem to a astronaut being that the particles in the belt would already... -
Graduate Moon Landing Q&A: Solar Winds & Astronauts
I have a question about the moon landing . Wouldn't the solar winds kill any astronaut in space? -
Graduate What Happens to Wave Measurements When You Sail at the Speed of Light?
Hi I want to create a thought experiment involving waves of any kind. I am going to create a thought experiment I am on a boat that is at rest in the ocean. I am standing on the boat measuring the size of the waves and the frequency. So I measure the wave along the side of my boat to have a...- Gaz

Graduate When Did We Last Get a Glimpse of the Big Bang?
Guys when the temp cooled and the universe became transparent i read around 57,000 years after the big bang what would the wavelength of the CMB be then? -
Undergrad Wood Shield For Magnetic Field?
Wouldn't the wooden frame create extra distance between the compass and the metal rocket ? That would surly decrease the magnetic interference. It would probably help somewhat with vibrations to I'm guessing?- Gaz

Graduate Determine Absolute Speed Using Time Dilation
So if time dilation is what's left after correcting for the optical effect and we want to know our motion through the universe. We can't use light because we have no reference point to what not being in motion is and there's lots of attempts using light which doesn't work. Why don't we just take...- Gaz

Graduate Does time dilation affect only the measurement of time?
Does anyone know any experiments that have been done that are prof of chemical processes, etc also slow down? I know there's experiments done that show atoms decay slower but how this effects chemical processes would be interesting to understand. [Mentor's note: Some erroneous and misleading...- Gaz

Graduate The Mysterious Synchronization of Clocks in Special Relativity
I have thought about this one to surly the clocks will appear to slow down in one direction and speed up in the opposite direction as they traveling towards and away from the standing observer unlike the vertical clocks that appear to just slow down. They would not be unsynchronized though as...- Gaz

Graduate Knowing which-path information by calculating distance time?
Isn't the difference in distance the whole point of the DELAYED choice experiment? I was under the impression that the difference in distance was what the delayed was all about and the fact that the results still came out regardless of the delay.- Gaz

High School What is time? How can we see it?
Time is a measurement of the rate of change of everything in the universe. Eg atomic clocks are the measurement of motion of electrons. We measure motion then give it a time frame based on its speed in relation to other motions.- Gaz

Undergrad Gravitational Effect: 2 Masses N, 2 Larger Masses Further Apart
How can you have larger masses with the same gravitational force? If there mass is greater there gravity is also greater. Gravity decreases with distance (double the distance quarter the force) so no there larger mass will create more gravitational force at the same distance. Do you mean at a...- Gaz
