High School Black Hole Entropy: Basis of Logarithm Explored
Yeah, should have looked it up before posting. I also misquoted it. The proposed value is twice what I wrote above, however looking at the paper again quickly there is something I'm missing. Anyway here is the paper: http://www.lsv.fr/~dowek/Publi/planck.pdf- geshel

High School Black Hole Entropy: Basis of Logarithm Explored
There is also a paper out there suggesting a new reference unit, instead of the Planck length. Such that an area of one such square unit has a limit of one bit. The linear unit is $$\frac{l_p}{\sqrt{\ln(2)}}$$- geshel

High School Black Hole Entropy: Basis of Logarithm Explored
The basis in that reference is the natural logarithm. For the equivalent in bits, see the introduction to Bousso’s The Holographic Principle here: https://arxiv.org/abs/hep-th/0203101- geshel

Undergrad What does Causality really mean?
Event C is in event A’s observable universe. “Location” C is not in “location” A’s observable universe at the ill-defined “when the influence left C”. -
Undergrad Is acceleration a more absolute/fundamental quantity in the universe?
For me, the more interesting point is that the 3rd and higher derivatives never show up anywhere important. -
Undergrad What does Causality really mean?
Think in terms of events, not just location. An event outside of your light cone may “have already” influenced something within your light cone, but you can’t see any evidence of that until the light from that intermediate point reaches you. By this time, ignoring the expansion of space, the... -
Graduate What does the equation C = 12 J mean for black holes?
Not really, because it depends on the initial size of the black hole.- geshel

Graduate What does the equation C = 12 J mean for black holes?
I believe the area of the BH must grow by at least the amount equivalent to the entropy of the stuff added. However, it most likely grows by much more than that. A BH of a certain mass has an area corresponding to the maximum entropy such a mass could have (this is for a simple Schwarzschild -...- geshel
