Is a Lack of Math Skill a Barrier to a Career in Astrophysics?
Looking at your post, first I have to congratulate you on your use of words, spelling and punctuation. For your age you are incredibly smart, I think you are underestimating yourself. My advice to you is study maths in your own time if you enjoy it that much and try and do problems randomly...- gizmo6

What kind of job could I get BEFORE university?
I've posted here before regarding wtf to do about education. I've found the perfect thing... a preperatory course that sets me up to study physics... and it's FREE! It's a night course so I can still work full time. But I want to work somewhere that I can gain additional...- gizmo6

What are some unique physics-related tattoo ideas?
So far I've seen a chick with pi tattoed on her arm. Then I've seen a really detailed tattoo of voyager 2 with the night sky in the background. I could imagine that one was painful!- gizmo6

Highway Accident Report by NTSB Texting
It's already a law in NZ that you can't text or phone whilst driving. I even saw a guy texting while riding a motorcycle once  WTF!- gizmo6

Advice Needed for High School Student Struggling with Math
What is it about maths that you find so hard? I am studying maths at the moment, it's not the numbers that are tricky, it's the sequence of steps you have to take to get an answer that I struggle with. I can master how to divide fractions one day, but a week later I forget exactly HOW to divide...- gizmo6

Schools I never graduated from high school, what are my options?
Thanks for the advice, but it is now 2011, not 1945 and the population is now 7 billion not 2 billion. Competition is more fierce than ever. Options are available, but they are highly competitive, especially since in NZ universities are being more and more picky and reducing class numbers every...- gizmo6

Schools I never graduated from high school, what are my options?
In a weird kind of way that's one of the things that attracts me to physics. Yes it's hard, but it's a lot of fun solving the problems and trying to "get it". My brain is super hyper active and it gets me into a lot of trouble at jobs. I'm typing this now at work and I could get into some...- gizmo6

Schools I never graduated from high school, what are my options?
Thanks for that, that is what I'm trying to do, the correspondence doesn't work for me because if I get stuck, I've got no one to help me through it. It's actually really difficult to find that kind of school here, I can't find anything close to that! I'll keep looking though cause that's...- gizmo6

Schools I never graduated from high school, what are my options?
This is a little long but bare with me, I need help from some experts. So I left high school when I was 15. Not because I was stupid, dumb, illiterate or whatever, it's because I was bullied. But I won't go into that. I made a career decision at 17 that I would be a custom motorcycle builder...- gizmo6

Is 22 Too Late to Start a University Degree in Astrophysics?
The reason I ask am I too old is because by the time I finish my 5 years at university (if i enrolled to start early 2013) I will be 27.5 and the air force has a maximum age restriction for jet pilots of 27.5. The selection process can take up to 6 months and then I might be too old. Stupid me...- gizmo6

Is 22 Too Late to Start a University Degree in Astrophysics?
Okie dokie! P.S maths was never a strong point, but I believe that was because everyone I knew always had a negative view on maths, so it rubbed off on me, but I think I can learn to enjoy maths if it means I get to do what I love, agreed?- gizmo6

Is 22 Too Late to Start a University Degree in Astrophysics?
Am I chasing something impossible? Heya, I am a 21 year old female who is so confused as with what to do! I'll give a bit of a background so someone can help me a bit more. Sorry it may be a bit long, but just bare with me. When I was young at high school I was deadset on becoming an...- gizmo6
