Will Advancements in Technology Lead to a Jobless Future?
I'd give it 30 years before we have human level consciousness in AI. But 20 years until we can mass produce computer chips as complex as the human brain. The reasoning behind this is that (according to the theory of relativity) time speeds up as evolution progresses and this is evolution. You...- GlassDraggon

Graduate Is Memory the Key to Disproving the Existence of God?
Assuming there are infinite dimensions outside of our own it would seem logical that we could not possibly work off our our "laws". Imagine for a moment a dimension where there are commonalities (like gravity) but none of our conventional laws hold true- matter and energy can cease to exist...- GlassDraggon

Do Corporations Have Positive or Negative Influence on Society?
The United States recognizes corporations as individuals and grants them the same rights as an individual person. So the question is: "do corporations have a positive or a negative influence on a society?" I would rather not get into a economics debate (I rarely read those) so I see the...- GlassDraggon

Providing people an opportunity to eat unhealthy food
That would be assuming that the two of us are being objective. I ate a double quarter pounder today...how about you? In a perfect society every individual would make up a society and would, as you said, be responsible. Our "society" now consists of superhuman corporations which transend...- GlassDraggon

Providing people an opportunity to eat unhealthy food
Good observation. But I still believe that the person lacks objectivity in the matter due to social pressure, advertising, etc. Society pushes the person to eat there and society is therefore responsible. Our decisions are made based upon our consciousness. So if our consciousness is aware...- GlassDraggon

Providing people an opportunity to eat unhealthy food
I am afraid this reads more like a scientific thread rather than a philisophical value thread :( By refusing to serve the aweful food (making the assumption that it is that bad) you would be replaced by another low paid worker without a second thought on part of McDonalds. From a broader...- GlassDraggon

Should morals be instilled by society?
It's difficult to answer the question without answering a series of questions. Is society made up of the individual? Or is society purely collective? Is it possible for anything to fail to effect society as a whole? Because if society is made up of the individual then every action...- GlassDraggon

Advice on Watching Nicholas Berg Video - Rachel
I almost envy your convictions. But the acts of brutality committed against our own people range far further than the death penalty (although the execution of possibly thousands of innocent people is in no way acceptable). The brutality which I am recognizing is that of mental brutality...- GlassDraggon

Advice on Watching Nicholas Berg Video - Rachel
I have JUST watched the video for the first time. The two things I noticed: I am almost entirely desensitized to violence and death and that I am sickened by my own anticipation and excitement at his death. To my senses, it could have almost been perceived as entertainment. I am sickened by...- GlassDraggon
