Engineering Resistance of a wire around the Earth
I don’t see anything wrong with my steps. I think they are all logically sound. It’s more so that I’m paranoid and don’t want to lose points on homework for no reason really.- godiswatching_

Engineering Resistance of a wire around the Earth
Hey! I had a question about this problem. I did (1) Using $$R_{0}=\rho\frac{l}{A}$$ For (2) I assume the question means that the radius increases by a meter. So I used $$\bigtriangleup L = 2\pi (r_{E}+1) - l$$ and then I used that L to find the new R. Then I said $$\bigtriangleup R = R-R_{0}$$...- godiswatching_

What is the effect of a 1 cm gap on the magnetic field in a solenoid?
It’s from a practice midterm I was trying to solve. Sadly the professor does not provide solutions. I am assuming it is somewhat important if it is in a practice test.- godiswatching_

What is the effect of a 1 cm gap on the magnetic field in a solenoid?
So after that I just use $$B_{{\bot}_{ab}} = B_{{\bot}_{bel}}$$- godiswatching_

What is the effect of a 1 cm gap on the magnetic field in a solenoid?
Yeah so I was wondering what that would look like? $$\oint \vec H \cdot d \vec l = NI$$ $$(l+s)H_{in} + sH_{gap} = NI$$ Is that valid? s is the gap length and l is the length of the original solenoid. Then we use the same idea?- godiswatching_

What is the effect of a 1 cm gap on the magnetic field in a solenoid?
Hey, I was trying to figure out this problem. I got (a) using B = mu * NI/L but I'm not sure how to start the part about the magnetic field in the gap after the solenoid is ripped in half with 1 cm gap. Thanks for the help!- godiswatching_

Spring stiffness and Heat Capacity (Equipartition of energy)
my reasoning would be that the extra 2kBT energy comes from the vibrational energy. And since vibrational energy can be quantized using h-bar*omega we can equate those two. However, I am not sure if the 2kBT comes only from vibrational or vibrational AND rotational energies. And also if the mass...- godiswatching_
