Do you want it and how do I do it?
If you are on *nix; cd /path/to/your/folder ls > listoffiles.txt Also see the man entry for ls for useful arguments.- gschjetne

Fine. I'll make my own air conditioner.
When you're already wasting tons of mains water, why not go around the rather ugly rubbish can and take the water straight from the taps?- gschjetne

Efficient Hydrogen Collection from Water: Tips for Combining with Oxygen
If you need a spaceheater while you're at it, that shouldn't be a bad idea. But for the sake of not wasting power, how well would pulse-width modulation work as a means of regulating voltage? I was bored the other day, so I "dropped" a 1.5 V alkaline cell pried from a 9V battery into a glass of...- gschjetne

Making a Hydrogen Fuel Cell: Is it Possible?
The bunsen can pretty much use any gaseous fuel, I suppose. Put in an atomizer and you might be able to use liquid fuel too. Although most liquid-fueled burners use a wick, I suppose. Why not make a "rechargable" cigarette lighter where you add water and plug it into the power outlet?- gschjetne

Is Chi an Actual Force in Our Bodies and Surroundings?
Force is defined by Newton's 2nd law as being equal to the rate of change of momentum, which was first published in the Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica in 1687. As far as I know the concept of Qi dates back long before this. My point is that this is metaphorical mysticism, not...- gschjetne

Can Biodiesel Be Converted for Use in Gasoline Engines?
A small digression; wouldn't a wankel be splendid for a hydrogen-fueled engine? I was browsing around for a few pages on small submersibles. For prolonged submersion with the infeasibility of very small nuclear reactors a stochiometric mixture of hydrogen and oxygen could be fed (from separate...- gschjetne

Why Do Different Countries Use 220V@50Hz and 120V@60Hz?
Which makes me question the 15 kV 16 2/3 Hz railroad power that seems to be adapted as a standard in many European countries. Do they use different generating stations than the regular 50 Hz, or do they do some complicated frequency change somewhere along the line? And why 16 2/3 Hz? Something...- gschjetne

What Happens When You Connect Earth and Neutral Wires in a Power Supply?
Apologies for all the errors...I wasn't really thinking straight. (I'm not used to some of the terminology - but the phase thing was a bit embarrasing. Yes, it's 180°) Anyway, when wiring stuff here in Norway there is a blue, brown and yellow/green striped. The blue and the brown are...- gschjetne

Why tiles for re-entry and not launch?
Also, from what Iv'e heard the effects of friction are negligble. The heating is caused by the compression of air.- gschjetne

Unlimited Energy From a Single Cable?
I was more talking in thermodynamic terms of free. Not even solar energy is free for us to "keep" - when we're done with it we eject it into the atmosphere in the form of heat - which in turns radiates to space. Also, remember that a permament magnet (such as the Earth) is not by any means a...- gschjetne

Taking energy from the atmosphere
Your freezer! Just use a generator connected to the stirling to power the freezer. Then you get free energy! (Yes, that was sarcastic ) Anyway, the point is that you always need some kind of difference to convert energy from one form to another. A heat engine needs a temperature...- gschjetne

What Happens When You Connect Earth and Neutral Wires in a Power Supply?
I just have a problem seeing what's the difference between hot and neutral. After all, there's a reason it's called potential difference. Switching between hot and neutral just changes the phase of the AC by 90°. And the rectifier in a power supply doesn't care about phase. Neither does the...- gschjetne

Making a Hydrogen Fuel Cell: Is it Possible?
Think about it. The reaction you are referring to, that of oxygen and hydrogen making water and heat is combustion. Exactly what a hydrogen-fueled bunsen burner does. Water and heat. So you don't want a fuel cell. Just mix your gases and ignite. Just don't blow things up or burn down your house.- gschjetne

Unlimited Energy From a Single Cable?
Also remember that there is no such thing as free energy. The space thether takes energy from the satellite's gravitational potential energy.- gschjetne
