Finding a Solution to Nuclear Waste Disposal
This would not be a good choice. Any radioactivity released in a normal volcanic eruption would involve NORM. If spent fuel were dumped in a volcano then the next eruption would include actinides, including transuranics, as well as fission products. Like most industrial waste there is no...- gtn

Calculators Calculator Decision: 50g vs 35s
I don't own a 50g but I do have a 35s, a 48gx, a 32s II, and an 11c. I started with the 11c in 1984 and have acquired the others along the way. I have used the 48gx the most of them all. The 35s is my most recent. My favorite is the 48gx. This is not due to the many advanced features (that I...- gtn

Find the time required to complete each cycle
kW aren't directly convertable to J. 1J = 1W x 1s or one Joule equals one Watt-Second. What you have is the conversion of a kW-hr (kilowatt-hour) to a Joule. The Watt is a measure of power. The Joule a measure of energy. To move between power and energy time must be considered. Gary- gtn

Modeling the Potential Dose Rates of Dropped Irradiated Hardware in BWR-5 Plants
JTG, I have not modeled this. A Google search yielded this link within the Energy Citations Database http://www.osti.gov/energycitations/purl.cover.jsp?purl=/10159708-T0sPgi/. It seems that INL has characterized a number of decommissioned reactor internals, including BWR CRBs. The report is...- gtn
