Maximizing Stopping Distance: Solving a Physics Concept Question with Three Cars
Yeah, I found another TA, they're all going to stop at the same time. I think that's what you were hinting at (same velocity, same acceleration)? Most TAs run the help sessions at different times, and that's the only help we get, so I'm kind of stuck with what TA I'm given because they're...- GuN

Maximizing Stopping Distance: Solving a Physics Concept Question with Three Cars
That's what the TA told me , and I managed to find the solutions, and it got me the right answer. I'll ask the professor though. Also, for most of these problems, (at this stage) in introductory physics we don't really acknowledge friction, so I'm not really sure how to incorporate that.---I...- GuN

Maximizing Stopping Distance: Solving a Physics Concept Question with Three Cars
Yeah, it was a conservation of momentum question. The professor slipped it into the work section to trick people. I asked a TA and he said redo the question with the concept that momentum initial=momentum final, so I assumed the least massive car would have the greatest velocity(because...- GuN

Maximizing Stopping Distance: Solving a Physics Concept Question with Three Cars
Homework Statement Three different cars (a red one, a blue one and a green one) are driving with an identical velocity. Suddenly they all slam on the brakes and skid to a stop. The red car is the most massive and the blue one is the least massive. Each of the three cars has identical tires...- GuN

Trigonometric Equation: 2sin(2x) = 2cos(x)
Right, I double checked the notes and found I used the wrong radians. I redid it and got (for the domain of [0, 2pi] ) pi/6, 5pi/6, pi/2 and 3pi/2.- GuN

Trigonometric Equation: 2sin(2x) = 2cos(x)
I still get pi/2 and 3 pi/2. >_< I'll try consulting my notes on how to properly calculate cosx=0 and sinx=1/2.- GuN

Trigonometric Equation: 2sin(2x) = 2cos(x)
Homework Statement 2 sin(2x) = 2 cos(x) Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution 4sinxcosx-2cosx=0 2(2sinxcosx-cosx)=0 2cosx(sinx-1)=0 2cosx=0 sinx=1 And then I did the math and got pi/2 and 3pi/2 , but that's apparently wrong.- GuN

Find Angle to Throw Snowball for 20m Distance | Kinematics
Homework Statement You throw a snowball with an initial speed of 15.0 m/s. Your enemy's head is located 20m away, approximately horizontally. At what angle should you throw the snowball (ignore air resistance)? Homework Equations vf=vi+at d=vit+(1/2)at^2 The Attempt at a Solution- GuN
