Graduate Why is Carnot not irreversible?
Heat exchange is always irreversible only for the processes which are not infinitesimally slow (or quasi-static or quasi-equilibruum) processes. In Carnot-Cycle heating is done infinitesimally slowly, that's why it is reversible.- guruji
