Diffusion current and carrier concentration equilibrium (unbiased)
Suppose you have a non-uniformly doped piece of semiconductor (without an applied bias) such that the acceptor dopant concentration Na(x) decreases from left to right (as x increases). In this case, the equilibrium hole distribution p(x) will not be uniform since then there would be a net drift...- halleff

Physical/conceptual reason for inductor voltage step response
I'm trying to understand the physical reason why when you drive an ideal inductor (no series resistance) with an ideal voltage step input (no series resistance), e.g. some Vin(t) = V0u(t), the output current will be a linear ramp. I can see how to derive this from the inductor equation, v = L...- halleff

Signal Speed Below the Speed of Light for Circuit Abstraction
I think I get this, but this would suggest that getting signals closer to the speed of light is actually beneficial, which doesn't seem to be what they're saying in the book and lecture. It's very confusing for me since I haven't found any source saying the same thing and no one else seems to...- halleff

Signal Speed Below the Speed of Light for Circuit Abstraction
I've read a couple of other topics on the Physics Forums about the lumped circuit abstraction requiring that signal timescales (i.e. the period of the highest frequency signal component) be much longer than the propagation delay of the signals though the circuit and that the wavelength should be...- halleff
