Homework Statement
A= [1 1 -1], B=[0 1 2], C=[3 0 1]
Show that r=s=t=0
Homework Equations
The Attempt at a Solution
I said r=s=t=0
so
0[ 1 1 -1] + 0[0 1 2] + 0[3 0 1] so
0 + 0 + 0= 0
so rA + sB + tC = 0 and r=s=t=0
Is that right way to do it?
Homework Statement
Show that A + A(transpose) is symmetric for any square matrix A.
Homework Equations
A symmetric matrice is equal to A=A(transpose)
The Attempt at a Solution
I said A + A(transpose)
= A(transpose) + A(transpose)
= (A + A) (transpose)
= A + A

Find all values of k such that the following homogenous system has non-trivial solutinos:
kx + 2y + 2z = 0
x + 2y + 2z = 0
4x + (k-1)y +2z = 0
Homework Equations
The Attempt at a Solution
I put it into matrix form ( k 2 2 0...
