Platinum Resistor: Measuring Temperature with High Accuracy
Homework Statement A Pt-resistance thermometer is used to measure temperatures in the range 0°C to 100°C. The electrical resistance of the thermometer is 2 Ω at 20°C and 6 Ω at 100°C. It is necessary to measure the temperature to an accuracy of ± 0.1 K. How accurately must the electrical...- ilyas415

Replacing Steel Components with Aluminium Alloys: A Simple Density Question
Homework Statement The problem is: "Aluminium alloys have a density of 2385 kg m^-3 and steel has a density of 7015 kg m^-3. If aluminium alloys are used to directly replace steel components there should be a three-fold savings in weight. Why cannot this be done?" Homework Equations...- ilyas415

Linear expansion of steel question
ah, I've got it, assume it is a cube with edge length 1m, then I've got to substitute 1m into the equation to find the new length, then i use density = mass/volume, then i get the change in density- ilyas415

How Do You Solve for x in an Electrical Circuit with Iin/I=10?
1. Hi. The question I am trying to work out is Question 6 part (v). I'm stuck for a solution to the question. I know that it involves the use of the forumula for resistance and possibly is a potential dividers questions. I don't know quite where to start and I don't understand the following...- ilyas415
