Doing math, but without actually understanding it
Hi, I'm taking calculus and I was wondering if problem-solving and comprehension go necessarily hand-to-hand. For example, I often do not understand long and extensive texts and simply try to narrow it down to understanding the concepts intuitively. I have so far managed to do well in math...- inception7

Physics What are the good careers related to physics?
This is simply not true. I've seen you around the forum 2-3 times writing this and it annoys me when you give out false information. A Physics degree is versatile and opens many doors. Not everyone in Physics thinks of getting a faculty position, so don't limit your career prospects to...- inception7

University admission and mental illness
No. An essay can justify an abnormal grades curve. For instance, if you are strong in grade 9, but fell apart in grade 10 and 11, you can then reason with the admission committee. This is assuming a positive prognosis, ie: the individual expected to achieve excellent grades post grade 11. And...- inception7

University admission and mental illness
What if you specifically reference your illness in your essay, and demonstrate your academic/personal growth. I'm thinking of discussing about it, because I believe this will show a bigger picture to the admission committee. Like add a different or extra perspective.- inception7

University admission and mental illness
Well the thing is, even if they don't explicitly ask, I'm counting writing an essay (part of the application) which probably will refer to it. I intend to showcase my struggle with Bipolar Disorder, mentioning how it affected me on an academic scale and personal. The point is to display the...- inception7

University admission and mental illness
I was wondering if Universities discriminate against people who suffer from one or several mental illnesses? What about MIT, Berkeley, Stanford, Princeton, Caltech, etc etc ? I ask this because I will be soon applying to University in about 1.5 year and sometimes they ask for any health issue...- inception7

*Engineering Physics/Astrophysics*
I tried looking up on Berkeley's website (more specifically the Engineering Physics web page) and I wasn't able to find a detailed course outline or a typical EP course schedule for the 4 years. As an example, maybe you can provide your schedule so I may have an idea what it looks like? Also...- inception7

*Engineering Physics/Astrophysics*
Can you provide me the curricuclum of such an EP program that is an engineering degree (so that I can know what it looks like, or should look like)? Or perhaps the faculty website of any specific university offering a solid education in this program. If you know of any solid university in...- inception7
