Can the floor function be used in integration from 0 to 2?
I can clearly see that the graphs area is 1, however integrating [x]-2[x/2] conventionally will always give 0. I guess I should ask is there a special integration for a step function? Thanks- Integral8850

Can the floor function be used in integration from 0 to 2?
Homework Statement Integral [x] - 2[x/2] dx limits are 0 to 2 I am using [] to represent the floor function. Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution Of course normal integration gives x^2/2 - x^2/2 which gives 0 for all cases, So is it right to assume a floor function...- Integral8850

Why does this keep happening to me?
I would not stress out about it! I was a ME major who dropped out my junior year with a 3.4 In order to pursue a career in aviation. People told me I was foolish and you could not get a good flying job without a degree. Fast forward 15 years later and I am now a captain flying a 737, although I...- Integral8850
