Wire With Greatest Bending Fatigue Resistance
I think you're right Danger. A tight fitting joint may be the best way. Thanks- itsdonny

Wire With Greatest Bending Fatigue Resistance
Thanks guys. I don't want it to spring back. I want the user to be able to adjust it to the position of their liking and have it stay there. I just want to make sure I'm using a material that can be flexed thousands of times and not snap. Phosphor bronze will do this?- itsdonny

Wire With Greatest Bending Fatigue Resistance
I need to add flexibility to this joint (where the arrow is pointing) and I was thinking about using a method I saw on this flexible clamp. I ripped it apart and it looks like they used copper wire as the flex material. What would be the best wire to use? I'm worried that perhaps it could...- itsdonny

How Can I Get This Pivot Point To Stay In One Point?
Good point. : ) The body will by made of some type of plastic and will be about 6" long. The arm is made of fiberglass tube with an O.D. of about 5mm, and the length of the arm is about 16" with about 1 oz of weight on the end. The spring will of course need to be strong enough to elevate that...- itsdonny

How Can I Get This Pivot Point To Stay In One Point?
I'm trying to figure out a solution to this design. I want to add a spring to this joint so it can flex up and down and I want the neutral position to be at 45 degrees as pictured. So if you push it either way it springs back to this position. At the same time I dont' want the arm to bounce...- itsdonny

What Do You Call This Type of Hinge?
Can you tell me what this type of hinge is called? I like how it springs into 1 of 3 positions. I'd like to see other examples but I don't know what to search for.
