Why does formation of snow flakes not violate entropy law?

Entropy is a very bad word. The first thing one thinks about is chaos. Rather it the tendency of all things to become leveled and calm. Structure, as opposed to entropy, implies something that is unlike the rest. For example, imagine you're tidying up your stones. You put the hot ones on the...

I Why Doesn't a Spinning Wheel Drop Due to Its Own Weight?

the torque opposes itself on the other side. It's just that because of the angle it is slightly greater on one end and thus the rotation. When it starts falling it goes from having to not having torque.

I What Happens When a Photon Hits an Electron?

Hello, I have a presentation tomorrow and in a segment, I talk about light absorption. It's more conceptual than technical. I did quite a bit of research on the topic but because of simplifying information I may have butchered the facts and written something wrong. Could anyone please confirm/...

I What causes light to diffract in the double slit experiment?

Well that would be something I don't know as well, but my question is what happens in a single slit when a wave passes through it? Why is it that when the wavelength is shorter than the slit a tight cone is observed on the other side and if its a longer wl it spreads out and we observe diffraction?

I What causes light to diffract in the double slit experiment?

I was studying the double slit experiment and started wondering what exactly does happen to the wave when its in the slit that makes it diffract or not? I toyed around with http://www.falstad.com/ripple/ but could not figure what exactly goes on that makes things as they are. While trying to...

Why Doesn't the Line Extend to the Zero Point on the Angular Acceleration Graph?

Acceleration means there is a change in speed. Something can spin and have torque without changing its speed. Constant speed means positive torque and 0 acceleration

Why Doesn't the Line Extend to the Zero Point on the Angular Acceleration Graph?

a change in torque will lead to a change in ang. acceleration, yes. What I got from the initial question is how can there still be torque if there is no acceleration. Did I understand wrong?

Why Doesn't the Line Extend to the Zero Point on the Angular Acceleration Graph?

Yes, torque is responsible for acceleration, but you can have an object spining at a constant speed and torque would exist. It is the twist force.
