Graduate Inductance as a function of position
Sorry, looking at it again I think I understand: As the position decreases the denominator will approach 1, making L0 (I assume the inductance when very close) to make the biggest impact on the L(y) value. If y was very large, the denominator would be large, limiting L0s affect on the...- Jimbo

Graduate Inductance as a function of position
Hello I am doing some research on non-linear systems, and have come across a equation regarding inductance and I am unsure how it was derived:[p] The inductance of the electromagnet depends on the position of the magnetic material, and can be modeled as, L(y) = L1 + L0 / (1 + (y / a)) where y is...- Jimbo

Plotting responses to z-plane transfer functions
Hi I am looking for any tutorials in how to plot a time response plot from a z-plane transfer function For example, if you have G = 4 / z + 2 I understand that plotting this on the z-plane would result in a point at -2 (although I am not sure about how the numerator of 4 might affect...- Jimbo

Can Asymptote Approximations Fully Construct a Bode Plot?
Hi If you have asymptote approximations of a Bode plot - do you just find the vector sum of each asymptote to construct the 'full' bode plot? I hope that makes sense Any help much appreciated Jimbo- Jimbo

How to Model a Control System for an RLC Circuit?
Hi I was wondering if anyone knew of any good tutorials on modelling control systems - I have to convert a RCL circuit to a control system - i understand things like how to express components mathmatically but am confused as to steps I should take to make sure I do a thorough model? Any...- Jimbo

Undergrad Solve Euler Integration for dx/dt = (x-at)/(x/a+t)
Thanks Hi Thanks very much everyone for your help I have it sorted now. gnome was correct about the exact column not being part of the calculation. To move onto the next iteration I needed to add the value Δ(t).f(x,t) to x(t) to get a new value for x(t) Thanks again Jimbo :)- Jimbo

Undergrad Solve Euler Integration for dx/dt = (x-at)/(x/a+t)
Thanks Hi Thanks for your reply Sorry about the unclear formula - the ^ were meant to be deltas to signify the small change in t x(t + delta(t)) = x(t) + delta(t).f(x,t) Hope that makes more sense now Jimbo :)- Jimbo

Undergrad Solve Euler Integration for dx/dt = (x-at)/(x/a+t)
Hi Im a bit stuck on the method for Euler Integration. I have the following first order differential equation: dx/dt = (x-at) / (x / a+t) where constant a = 1.0V/s, and initial condition x = 1.0V at t=0s I have a time step of 0.02 and I need to calculate the output voltage at a time...- Jimbo
