What Defines Attractiveness in Dating Conversations?

Good point. I agree that all those qualities may be bad for a real relationship. But I'm still somewhat sceptical towards how one could notice them based on appearance and behaviour in a flirty environment. Most sensible girls and boys that I know like to let loose once or twice a month, and...

What Defines Attractiveness in Dating Conversations?

Well, I appear to be somewhere between the cute and charming age. Younger girls have told me I'm cute and I'm sure they've meant a lot with it. Girls around my age and in my surrounding tend to use "charming", "handsome", "elegant" and "eloquant" to give the highest marks. It is ladies in their...

What Defines Attractiveness in Dating Conversations?

At first glance, you look innocent, until you open your mouth. Then you come across as witty, which increases the hottness level for me with many degrees. After a good pile of posts your sweetness and hard working nature shines through thou. I hope you don't mind that I took the liberty of...

And if I think of them as the devil I survive much longer?

Aha! Thanks for that clarification, now I know what they've all been telling.

What Defines Attractiveness in Dating Conversations?

Well, in this instant, I kind of pile all the adjectives that arouse me sexually under "attractive". That includes "hot", "pretty", "cute", etc. All of those can mean I'm attracted, but doesn't necessarily, all depending on my own mood. For example, I was on party last friday and they played...

Can Religious Belief Be Studied Scientifically?

Exactly. Some questions are still fruitless to approach scientifically, but our curiosity towards them isn't any less for that. On the other hand, science can answer an increasing amount of traditionally religious questions and faith isn't required to understand them anymore. The conflict arises...

Newton's second law and D'Alembert's principle

Well, I probably don't know any more about it than you, but I understand it simply as a result from all the experiments that confirm Newton's second law. Acceleration is per definition change in motion and a bigger mass will clearly "resist a change in motion" and result in less acceleration (a...

    Thermodynamics and internal energy stuck

Yes, I think you are right... And I was wrong in saying dW would be positive if work is done on the system, it is positive when the system does work on the surrounding. Sorry.

    Thermodynamics and internal energy stuck

I must say don't understand this reasoning. Concidering the wording in the question, why wouldn't the 500j be the net decrease in internal energy?

    Thermodynamics and internal energy stuck

Hootenanny, doesn't "on the system" mean precicely that energy is added? Wouldn't it be "on the surrounding" if the system lost energy?

    Thermodynamics and internal energy stuck

You've probably thought right, but I think your notation is non-standard. It should be: U = Internal energy, W = mechanical work and Q = amount of heat added. dQ = dU + dW. All these changes are seen in relation to the system, so dU should be negative and dW positive, right?

    Temperature and pressure question

Hi! I also think overpressure means the pressure over atmospheric pressure, in other words the net pressure that affects the ball. But I am somewhat fuzzy on exactly what should be done here, but I think the idea is that at some point during the bounce, all of the balls kinetic energy from the...

Newton's second law and D'Alembert's principle

    1. A fundamental property of matter that (among other things) determine how the matter reacts to a force. 2. Weight is the force on a mass due to gravity.

Medical How Has Dyslexia Affected Your Life?

Me neighter, so he may just as well be faking it. Anyway, I have also been warned not to confuse ADD and ADHD with dyslexia, altough they sometimes appear in the same person. And non of these should be confused with old fascioned sloppyness.
