Time Travel: Calculating Velocity for 10 Year Trip
So at first I thought that the time would be 10 years, and that I’d have to consider the outbound motion as v = .87c and inbound motion as v = -.87c but I’m struggling with addition of the velocities and whether or not this is even the right approach?- jselms99

Einstein's Electrodynamics of moving Bodies
How would I account for varying distances traveled though? I was thinking of using the equation x=vt and t=x’/(c-v) but I don’t know if that’s helpful- jselms99

Einstein's Electrodynamics of moving Bodies
I don’t have notes or anything except Einstein’s 1905 paper “On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies” which is currently breaking my brain…. From what I’ve read about length contraction, the equation L = Lo √1- v^2/c^2 may apply but I’m having difficulty identifying Lo- jselms99

Einstein's Electrodynamics of moving Bodies
Okay I’m assuming I have to use √1- v^2/c^2 multiplied by some coefficient of length but I don’t understand any of this and could really use help understanding the process and/or reference material that might point me in the right direction- jselms99
