What is the Net Force on a Block Against a Wall With Static Friction?
So the static friction force is an upward force and mg is a downward force; whereas the force applied (which I am trying to find) and the normal force are left/ right forces. But how do the up/down and left/right compare to each other?- kathmill

What is the Net Force on a Block Against a Wall With Static Friction?
Homework Statement A horizontal force F pushes a block of weight 5.0 N aganist a vertical wall. The coefficient of static friction between the wall and the block is 0.25. The force F is the minimum required to hold the block in place. Find the magnitude of the net force on the block by the...- kathmill

Volume Flow Rate: Solve for Water Leaving Faucet in cm^3/s
Homework Statement A pump at ground level creates a gauge pressure of 102 kPa in the water line supplying an apartment building. The water leaves the tank into a pipe at a negligible speed. It travels up 10 m through the building and exits through a faucet. The cross-sectional area of the...- kathmill

Projectile Motion and Prime Axis
The Problem A projectile is thrown from a sloping hill with an initial speed of 20m/s directed perpendicular from the slope. If the incline of the slope is 32 degrees, how far from where it is thrown will the ball land? I found these equations will result in a solution... Want: R = square...- kathmill
