Graduate Which Clock Accumulates More Time in the Train Paradox of Relativity?

How can observed simulaneity have anything to do with actual simultaneity? Observation cannot affect an event of this nature (it is not film exposure or anything). Also, when should we assume clocks measure time anyways? Clocks don't measure anything. They are mechanical repeating devices.

Is Consciousness Solely a Product of the Brain?

It seems perhaps in the question, too many things are undefined and unstated. Every happening will be due to availability, location, timing, potential difference, etc. All beings, then, would have to be questioned in their decision capability, so you are left with an incomplete question in that...

Graduate Measurement scales are clearly defined except time.

Never do we change a completely imagined, clearly defined linear measure. We don't change the fahrenheit scale as we use temperature measurements. Humidity, radioactivity, velocity, weight- None of these are ever manipulated. I hope this helps to make a point. Why does it automatically make...

What is the true nature of time?

Thanks for replying. I felt I was on topic. Sorry, are we not talking about time? I am brand new to this Forum, so I'm not quite ready to start a new thread. I was hoping to actually find a thread to reply to which would give me some experience talking about this subject. In my everyday life I...

What is the true nature of time?

We talk about the scale of time, which should help one to realize it only exists in concept. Even an inch is a concept- an object is actually exactly that long, but we concieved an inch to more easily percieve it in respect with other objects. So time then is absolutely constant as is an inch...

Graduate Is time in essence - constant?

First, hello, all! I hope I am at home here. I, as well, firmly believe time is constant. Someone likened it unto a scale previously- and that is exactly what it is. Time only exists in that we have concieved it as a measuring scale for comparison of places or events. That is- it is a figment...
