I am trying to estimate probability of loosing (probability of bankrupt ##Pb##) using Martingale system in betting.
I will ilustrate my problem on the following example:
Let:
##p## = probability of NOT getting a draw (in some match)
We will use following system for betting:
1) We will bet only...
Hello,
natural frequencies of (circular) membrane are expressed in every textbook as:
where is the m-th positive root of the Bessel Function of the first kind of order n. For m=1, n=0: ξmn = 2,405. represents the radius of membrane, and is the velocity of wave propagation...
I am trying to anallytically determine natural frequencies ƒ of the tympanic membrane. I am using 2D sectorial annulus membrane as a simplified model of tympanic membrane according to following picture
The parameters that i want to use are following:
THICKNESS = 0,1 mm
The natural...
I understand. A good way is to use ezplot as well for a rough estimation of points, where functions is zero (intersection with x axis) and then use this rough guess as x0 input in fzero for precise value
Yes. I misused fzero function. now it works for me aswell!function ffu = f(x)
ffu = besselj(0,0.5*x)*bessely(0,4.5*x) - besselj(0,4.5*x)*bessely(0,0.5*x);
and fzero
fun=@f
x0=2;
S=fzero(fun,x0)
will find solution. It finds only one solution which is close to the x0 value but its not the problem.
Hello,
i am trying to solve this equation for x
besselj(0,0.5*x)*bessely(0,4.5*x)-besselj(0,4.5*x)*bessely(0,0.5*x) ==0;
I tried vpasolve, but it gave me answer x=0 only. fzero function didnt work, too.
What function can solve this equation?
Thanks
Hello,
i use mathtype 7.3 in word - in office 365 for equations. Everything is okay, but when inserting an inline equation, an extra space is inserted after the equation in Word. It looks ugly. i found http://dessci.com/en/support/mathtype/tsn/tsn143.htm but it didnt help me. It does not work...
I am writing my PhD Thesis now and i have a lot of equations. I use Word (for text) and for eqations i use MathType. For text i use Calibri font 12pt but for eqations - in MathType i prefer Euclid. It looks pretty good but i would like to ask you, if it is a problem that fonts for texts and...
Well here is MIT professor talking about this problem. At 18min. he is talking about phase angle. However it is same as my solution...
