High School If you scratch a piece of metal, does it weigh more?
As for the vertical bar, how does the bar weigh more in that configuration? When horizontal, all of the bar experiences a force of gravity roughly equal. When vertical, the bottom portion experiences a force minutely stronger while the top portion experiences one minutely weaker, so they...- Krb686

High School Why is light not visible when it travels.
That makes perfect sense. I understand lcds, I don't know why I didn't make that connection! -

High School Why is light not visible when it travels.
I don't mean to thread hijack, but this is relevant. How does a photon "carry" an image per se? I guess that question may be more relevant in the science and study of the brain rather than physics, huh? -

Undergrad Confusing Electricity: Uncovering the Mysteries of Voltage and Resistance
What do you mean it would drop? I thought it would just carry 650 milliamps constantly through wherever on your body it was touching.- Krb686

Need help troubleshooting a laser
Yeah I just tested it again it's pretty dim without the multimeter in the circuit, and the batteries read 3.03 volts. I don't know if it's standard laser design but on the tiny pcb end sticking out, there is a really really small chip that says OEE I think on it. The negative terminal runs...- Krb686

Need help troubleshooting a laser
I bought a red <5mW laser from thinkgeek.com, and it takes 2 AAA batteries. I took it apart though, took off the momentary pushbutton switch and soldered in a wire because i need to solder on a constant on/off switch at some point but I have noticed the laser is not acting how it was before...- Krb686

Okay that makes sense now, sorry I mistyped that I meant to say in parallel.- Krb686

Undergrad Confusing Electricity: Uncovering the Mysteries of Voltage and Resistance
Well I guess it's pretty simple, I know E = IR, but I've been thinking of some situations lately that have been confusing me so I decided to ask here. The first one is how does a high voltage stun gun not create high currents? The highest I've seen is 4.5 million volts. I think they simply...- Krb686

Why Do Observers A and B Perceive Light Arrival at Different Times?
If you read carefully after the Solve portion, it says the explosion occurred at 2 microseconds into the 'time frame', which simply adds 2 microsec. to what you are stating, so 4 and 3 respectively for observers A and B. It does only take 2 microsecs and 1 microsec to reach A and B, but the...- Krb686
