High School What Are the Potential Benefits of a Lunar Base?
So the gravity of the moon effecting Earth doesn't affect on life on Earth? I think I was looking on a longer timescale though, and assuming that we found a great general use for Helium 3 where we would have consistent mining of it (hence the oil reference aforementioned), while also mining the...- Kronos5253

High School What Are the Potential Benefits of a Lunar Base?
Just trying to take into consideration that humans do have a tendency to overdo things over time. I'm sure we could find a way to use it. EDIT: Didn't we think the same thing about oil?- Kronos5253

High School What Are the Potential Benefits of a Lunar Base?
Easier space travel I can understand... But why would you EVER want to mine the moon for resources? Why would you want to mess with the mass of the moon? Isn't it sort of... Oh I don't know... Essential to how we live here on Earth?- Kronos5253

Graduate What is the context of observation in this video?
Wouldn't it be easier to say that the field created by the electricity in our body, which increases when we think because of an increase in electrical activity in the brain, interacts with the particle, creating the wave to collapse? Anything that we would have to use to make a measurement of...- Kronos5253

Graduate We Know Less About CDM Than We Did Before
Without the rotational aspect that spiral galaxies have (presumably created by Super-massive black holes in the center), why would one assume that the dark matter would clump at the center? The rotation creates a center of mass in the galaxy where I would presume the dark matter would start to...- Kronos5253

Undergrad Blue Shift & Red Shift: Explaining the Universe
I have a question.. So far, from what I've browsed on the forums, I haven't found an answer to it, and I figured this would be the best place for it. I'm aware of the balloon analogy, but I have a question regarding blueshifts and redshifts. If you take the balloon analogy, everything in the...- Kronos5253

Is phone technology coming full circle?
They sure do. They make it for people who have bad eyesight, considering how tiny font usually is on a cellphone. It's usually for seniors. 100% true, although it's not always that bad.- Kronos5253
