Graduate Can scotch tape method get film size larger than particles?
Hi there, I am preparing to use the scotch tape method to get hex-Boron Nitride thin film from hBN powder. As far as I know, the available particle size for hBN is 10 um at most, is it possible for me to get hBN thin film using the peel off method with size larger than 10 um? If so, what is the...- leehoom

Graduate How's diffraction pattern modied by phonon perturbation?
Hi there, I have a problem on phonon perturbation's effect on diffraction pattern. Assume atomic planes parallel to (100) of bcc lattice is periodically perturbed by phonon. How will diffraction pattern be modified as a result of such perturbation? Will we see any diffraction peaks in addition...- leehoom

Graduate Measure the out-of-plane k of suspended thin film
Thanks for your reply. As most of TDTR method used previously was thin film on a substrate, I'm not sure whether it can be applied to suspended film condition. Also, I'm curious if 3 omega method can be applied to suspended thin film structure.- leehoom

Graduate Measure the out-of-plane k of suspended thin film
Hi there, Does anyone know if there is any method to measure the out-of-plane thermal conductivity of a suspended thin film? As the conventional way of measuring the out-of-plane thermal conductivity is to deposit the thin film on a thick substrate, but we want it suspended. Thanks in advance.- leehoom

Graduate Student Seeking Advice in Thin Film Research: Can You Help?
I'm a first year graduate student in Vanderbilt University, and currently dosing research in the filed of thin film. I'm totally a green finger in this area, and hope to receive helpful suggestions in future when I coming across any problems. Happy holidays! Leehoom- leehoom
