Undergrad Calculating Torque from motor specs
So, going along with what has been provided... P(output) = Amps x Volts x 0.8 P(output) = 0.075 Amps * 1.5 volts * 0.8 = 0.09 Watts Where P = Power T = (P*60)/(2*pi*RPM) T = (0.09 Watts * 60) / (6.28*3300 RPM * (1 min / 60 sec)) = 5.4 / 69.08 = 0.0762 N*M As for the information you gave me... -

Undergrad Calculating Torque from motor specs
I do not know me what good power or speed do me. What equation would I use to calculate torque? I do not know the relationships. It has been quite some time since a physics course. -

Undergrad Calculating Torque from motor specs
Greetings folks. I am unsure how to calculate the torque produced by a motor if the known voltage input and amps are known. Here are the specs: 3300 RPM @ 1.5Vdc @ 0.075 Amps. 6900 RPM @ 3VDC @ 0.095 Amps. 0.93" Diameter x 1.5" Long body. Operating Range 1.5 to 4.5 VDC. Shaft: 0.07" Diameter... -

Questions regarding becoming an engineer
If you are leaning more towards a duel major, I'd say phy/eng. You have more options if you do not go into grad school - and math is a part of both of these subject areas. I'm not intirely sure what is required of a math major (extent of knowledge), but I'm sure you'll have to take upto Calc II...- Leinad

Memorizing stuff and readers block
I'd agree with Barny's second method, as that works best for me. Little andedote here. In our chem class we had to memorize all the elements, not a big thing, but it can take a while and once you think you have them all you forgot one or two. As the class went on we used different elements many...- Leinad

Programs Bioengineering, Biochemist, Molecular Biology & Nanotechnology: Majors & Jobs
Alright, this is very helpful. We've all seen the discovery channel or whatever it is. So genetic major, or genome sciences is more of alter genetic structures to the example I mentioned earlier?- Leinad

Maximizing My Transfer for Top Grad Schools: Consider These Factors
Okay I've read maybe the four first posts and skipped down here. I hear you on the 3.7 GPA, that's what I have and I'm a Sr. in High school. I'm not totally happy about it you know being older as I am now and realizing I need to spend much more time studying and striving for that 4.0 which I...- Leinad

Programs Bioengineering, Biochemist, Molecular Biology & Nanotechnology: Majors & Jobs
Hello. I have a few questions as to the differences in some specific fields along with majoring differences. Can you please help me describe some sample jobs, and correct me on my descriptions. Bioengineering: modifying the genetic structure to give certain characterics to i.e. plants...- Leinad

Programs Is Double Majoring Worth It for Undergraduate Math and Statistics Students?
I've thought about this dilema myself. Do I maj/minor to focus more on major, or duel major to open more oppurtunities. I'd say duel personally. Here's my reasoning why. You have more options out of school in terms of job location if you do not continue your grad school immediantly. You will...- Leinad

Engineering Co-Op programs are they worth it?
Here's my take on it. Doing a co-op gives you some hand-on experience that you cannot find by reading books, job descriptions, or learn in class. You're getting into the jist of things somewhat late being a Sr., but I'd say give it a try. Try it out, see how it works for you, plus that'll...- Leinad

Schools Is Taking Calc 3 Alongside General Chem and Physics Feasible?
Thanks for the input. I'll copy and paste the course discriptions below. As for the physics, it will transfer to practically all in my state - Michigan. The physics for sci/eng is above the General Physics I, and II in terms of difficulty. I figure I'll go for the higher level physics and math...- Leinad

Schools Is Taking Calc 3 Alongside General Chem and Physics Feasible?
Hello ya'll, new to these forums but I've been reading around and enjoyed what I've read. Wanted to get some feedback about some classes coming up this semester. I'm a Sr. high school student, and will taking one class at the HS (AP Bio), and 4 at a college nearby. I took AP Calc BC and...- Leinad
