Graduate How Does the Fermi Level Influence Solar Cell Voltage?
In general the Fermi level and the (electro)chemical potential are not the same, but in a semiconductor we regard them as being synonymous.- LewisEE

Electrical Engineering + Computer Engineering
I doubt that you'll even be able to do this because the two fields are closely intertwined. Depending on the curriculum, one could theoretically get either of these degrees with the same courses taken.- LewisEE

News Fox News: Fair & Balanced? Investigating Claims of Corruption
If we look at the Univision/FNS snub at face value, apparently Al Punto's show gets better ratings than Wallace does. So the White House can claim that they simply want to reach more voters. The number comes from Univision itself so who knows its truth, but still. Source...- LewisEE

News Will Joe Scarborough and David Petraeus Run for President in 2012?
If the right nominates a moderate with executive experience, e.g. Pawlenty or Romney, they have a good chance. Well, their best chance, anyway. Obviously it depends on how the economy recovers and what Afghanistan looks like by then. No way in hell someone like Santorum or Huckabee wins.- LewisEE

News Should ACORN lose Government Funding?
ACORN used the same "temporary, rogue employee" excuse during the election to explain their people who were submitting false voter registrations. Now we have another controversy which centers around these supposed part time workers. WhoWee is right; the company may not intend to falsify...- LewisEE

Schools Taking time off before grad school
If you use the Summer wisely and research graduate schools then you'll take a load of stress off your shoulders once deadlines start to come up in the Winter. By the time I started my Fall senior courses, I knew where I did and didn't want to go. You don't have to know EXACTLY what you want...- LewisEE

Programs How Should I Prepare for My Engineering Degree?
I assume that in high school you are similar to how I was: You were able to master all the material either during lecture, or by the time you finished your assigned homework. Little time needed to be spent studying or reinforcing concepts. This will no longer be the case. There will be...- LewisEE

Sine Wave using a DAC/Microcontroller.
As noted above, you do not yet have a sine wave; what you have is essentially a half rectified sine wave. You'll need to generate the "negative" part of the sine wave. And as I said earlier, this will create a sine wave with a DC component which you'll need to remove otherwise the headphones...- LewisEE
