2n2222 npn transistor voltage question
I don't really care about the buzzer so much I just was thinking I could use this circuit as a very basic encoder. I came across an old PLC at a garage sale that I've been playing with. I want the 24v because that is what the PLC accepts.- lindhaw

2n2222 npn transistor voltage question
Well I don't know very much at all, I am just in my first circuits class at WWU. Ok so i did a quick search for emitter follower and I am going to be honest, I am not sure what I was supposed to take away from my reading. Are you suggesting that I replace everything coming off the second pin of...- lindhaw

2n2222 npn transistor voltage question
I was only planning on changing the 9vdc to 24. does this mean I need to change up the R5 value?- lindhaw

2n2222 npn transistor voltage question
So I am working on a project and I am using a diagram I found on this forum but I want to alter it a little. The transistor on the right is a 2n2222 npn transistor. I want to change the 9v to 24v. I've been looking up datasheets on it and I think it will do what I want but I wanted to get a...- lindhaw

Problem Using Bipolar Transistor as a Switch
Ya that's correct. I am not familiar with those yet. Is that something that I could make or is that something that I should just buy?- lindhaw

Problem Using Bipolar Transistor as a Switch
I don't think I can do that because I think it would just burn up the emitter and possibly the receiver. I've also been looking into this http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/prodinfo.asp?number=G18694 but I've never used anything like that so I am not sure if the response time will be fast enough.- lindhaw

Problem Using Bipolar Transistor as a Switch
Im new here and I am currently working on a small IR encoder project. I have the encoder working great but now I need to use the 5vdc signal that comes from the encoder and make it 24vdc. I am currently trying to use a bipolar transistor but its not working. The basic diagram that I am going off...- lindhaw
