The World's Largest Computer in 1951
Maybe I'm out of turn: This device includes a wooden bow to drive the drill, a shaft for the drill, a removable tube shaped drill bit with a serrated edge, a center pin to guide the drill and a wooden removable cup to protect the user's hand. The purpose this device is used for can be traced...- Lorider

The World's Largest Computer in 1951
Yeah, I knew that was too easy of a question for the likes of these intellects. I wonder if it would have been as popular if it had been called WD39 or WD647?- Lorider

The World's Largest Computer in 1951

The World's Largest Computer in 1951
I may not know too much of the scientific stuff, but I know the stuff I stuff my face with. But I digress, actually I liked the Jeopardy feel, where the answer is given and the question has to be figured out. This has been probably the coolest thread I have seen at this site.- Lorider

Omni Magazine - SciFi classic mag
Issac Asimovs Digest, Fantasy & Science Fiction, Dunes Tales--just to name a few new publications. Otherwise hit the used book stores. I just picked up about 20-25 used Omni's from the 70s-80s along with a bunch of the other forementioned.- Lorider

I Got My First Job - Celebrating My First Paycheck
My first job was back in the '70's as a pinsetter for a bowling alley that didn't have the automatic pin machines. You haven't lived until you tried to avoid 250-300 pd drunk guys lobbing bowling balls at you as hard as they can while you are stooped over trying to set-up pins. Then I get fired...- Lorider

The Young Ones: Salute or "Up Your Bum"?
Hi I am a long time reader first time poster. I love this site, the only internet access I have is 1/2 hour a day during lunch at work and this is the first site I hit everyday. I am hardly a scientist type but still enjoy the posts, some extremely interesting discussions. And I have to give...- Lorider
