Controls - gain margin question
The phase margin is approximately 46 degrees. The gain margin, on the other hand, is the gain needed to increase gain to 0 dB when phase is equal to -180 degrees. Well in this case, the Phase is never equal to -180 degrees so how do I establish the gain margin? That is the entire point of this...- LTME

Controls - gain margin question
Homework Statement Find the Bode Plot, and the phase and gain margins for the uncompensated system. Homework Equations G = (3.6s+6)/(s(.1s^2+.7s+1)) The Attempt at a Solution I understand the phase and gain margin ideas, but the gain margin hinges on the phase crossing -180 degrees, and in...- LTME

Calculators TI-89 - how to delete equation on numeric solver?
The topic says it all. I am trying to figure out how to delete unwanted equations out of my TI-89 "numeric solver" app. I consulted the manual...nothing. I have googled and youtubed...nothing. Any help here would be great as I love the numeric solver app but it is becoming hard to find the right...- LTME

Capacitor help needed (voltage needed and time constant question)
Homework Statement #1. If you needed to store 1 coulomb of charge on a 1000uF capacitor what voltage would be required and what electric field would exist within the capacitor if the plate spacing is .1mm. #2. Using Vc=Vo*e^(-t/RC) show that Vc will be equal to 37% of Vo when (RC) seconds...- LTME

Math pole (which class was the most difficult for you?)
I am curious which math classes gave people the most trouble during their time in college. I am not looking for a "this class is harder than that class" kind of ruling as I know it differs from student to student and school to school. I am simply curious to see if there will be a pattern in the...- LTME

Schools Community College vs University: Comparing Experiences
I will be starting classes this summer in a community college to pick up a few pre-reqs in order to start a Mechanical Engineering program. My original plan was to transfer to a four year university (PSU) as soon as possible, but after talking to a few people I am not so sure. I have heard mixed...- LTME

Physics How does colour blindness affect a career in Physics?
Well the issue never seems to be actually doing the job. With a little innovation and common sense color issues can be worked around or never actually exist in the first place. However some companies simply write you off if you can not pass the color blind test at the physical. Ironically...- LTME

Physics How does colour blindness affect a career in Physics?
How about color blindness in engineering? I am about to start school to become a ME and I am colorblind. I have asked a few different college advisers and they all said they didn't [U]THINK that it would be an issue, but I am still a little worried. Though my color blindness has never caused me...- LTME
