Graduate Double slit experiment and mirrors
Has the double slit experiment ever been performed with an adjacent reflection? With quantum weirdness I'm curious as to whether the reflection would give the same results as the actual apparatus as to which slit the particle wen through.- m_robertson

Graduate Does the Expansion of the Universe Affect Thermal Equilibrium?
Gravity and Thermodynamics I was thinking about something today. Einstein's equations famously said that matter can neither be created nor destroyed, only converted from one form to another. Does this sort of equilibrium apply to temperature as well? One thing we can observe is that the...- m_robertson

Graduate Does the expansion of the universe affect gravitational forces?
Is this something we've measured on the Planck scale? In regard to the apples, is this something we've measured on the Planck scale? What sort of scaling do we use to measure the falling of the apples, and over what time period? Is it possible for us to make these measurements to determine...- m_robertson

Graduate Does the expansion of the universe affect gravitational forces?
Thanks, I realize I was making a lot of assumptions, you clarified a lot of things for me there. By "distribution of space" I meant the entire stretch of space from both the observable and unobservable universe considered as a single body. Obviously thanks to Hubble we know that the universe is...- m_robertson

Graduate Does the expansion of the universe affect gravitational forces?
I'm a complete and utter layman here, so please forgive any misunderstandings, but I'm just curious about something and wonder if people could say some words on the subject. So as we understand it, the universe is constantly expanding, but expanding at an accelerated rate, so wouldn't this have...- m_robertson

What fantasy universe would you live in?
Some cyberpunk dystopia. Most of my favourite science fiction comes from the cyberpunk genre, Blade Runner, Akira, etc. I've always been a fan of big cities illuminated by towers of lights, Japan, China, New York, and now places like Dubai, it's like the complete opposite of nature and cyberpunk...- m_robertson

High School Do we have a complete knowledge of the spectrum of light?
This is what I was getting at. So it's just down to a matter of terminology? The fact that we don't know what happens to EM radiation at the Planck scale is the answer I was looking for, so there are elements to light that aren't understood?- m_robertson

High School Do we have a complete knowledge of the spectrum of light?
What I mean is the different wavelengths of light. We have an understanding of the light spectrum from gamma waves all the way to radio waves, but is that the complete and entire picture? Or could there be things beyond gamma waves and radio waves which we have yet to detect with modern instruments?- m_robertson

High School Do we have a complete knowledge of the spectrum of light?
The question is pretty simple really, do we have a complete knowledge on the different wavelengths of light? Or are there possibly other sources of light out there that are unknown to us?- m_robertson

Graduate The black Hole Wars - Losing Information in the Hawking Radiation
Could an analogy for lost information in the Hawking Radiation be like an ice sculpture melting? For an ice sculpture might take the image of a beautiful swan, but once the ice sculpture melts all you have is a pool of water. Would it be impossible to tell what the ice sculpture was simply by...- m_robertson
