Solving Speakers Popping Problem
Cliff, Thanks for your in-depth reply. I learned quite a bit, but I still have some questions. Are all Panamax surge protectors made with reactive components? How can I tell the difference between a quality surge protector and something that uses MOVs? What's the difference between...- Manheim

Solving Speakers Popping Problem
The speakers are actually 5.1 PC speakers -- the Logitech Z-5500's to be specific if anyone's interested. The amp, subwoofer, and speakers are all in one package. I disconnected my only input line to them, my computer. The amplifier still popped when I turned my fan on and off. I suspect it...- Manheim

This isn't a homework problem or anything, but a problem plaguing me at home. I have a set of speakers that pop occasionally. The pop is uniform across all satellites and subwoofer of the speaker set (there are 5 satellites and 1 subwoofer). The speakers are 500 watts RMS, 1000 watts peak...- Manheim

High School Build a Tall Paper Tower: Physics Lab Project
Thank you for all of your replies. To recap, we get one 8x11 inch piece of paper. We can cut it, do anything to it. We also get 40 cm of 1/2 inch wide masking tape. We can't hang the tower from a ceiling or use a wall to support it or anything like that, it has to be free standing. The... -

High School Build a Tall Paper Tower: Physics Lab Project
We only get a predetermined amount of tape, it might only be a foot, or less. It's probably just flimsy scotch tape, though I don't know for sure; plus I don't think the tape can be used as anything else other than holding paper together, that is, it can't be used to extend the length of the tower. -

High School Build a Tall Paper Tower: Physics Lab Project
I'm not sure if this would go more into the engineering section, but I think physics concepts would help out more. I might be wrong, if so, please move this thread. We have an extra day in Physics Lab and we're going to do a one-period long project -- We're going to be given a base, a normal...
