Basic probability question (1 boy + 2 girls of a group of 7)
Sorry for confusion. I meant to write the following, the 7 students consists of 5 girls and 2 boys. What is the probability of selecting a group of one 1 boy and 2 girls. Using combination I can deduce that: C(2,1)*C(5,2))/C(7,3) = 20/35 But my question is I attemped also to calculate the...- MathMan2022

Basic probability question (1 boy + 2 girls of a group of 7)
I know this problem can be done as follows. P(1 boy and two girls) = (C(2,1)*C(5,2))/C(7,3) = 20/35 My question can this be written as probility fractions? Meaning Lets say if that (2/5*3/7+1/2*1/7)/(3/7) But that doesn't give same result? what am I doing wrong?- MathMan2022

Find the coordinates of D which lies on the vector BC
That I can figure out is that if I write <DB>=5/6<DC> then <OD>-<OB>=5/6*(<OD>-<OC>) But don't know howto proceed from there?- MathMan2022

Conditional probability problem
Then that would be P(X=0) I am searching for? Because that would be the prob that non of the 10 voted for block A.- MathMan2022

Conditional probability problem
So a) P(X = 5) = K(10, 5)*0.45^5*(1 - 0.45)^(10 - 5)= 0.23 b) P(X = no votes) = 1- P(X=5) = 1-0.23- MathMan2022

Conditional probability problem
Oh its like that? Yes I have heard of that. P(X = r) = K(n,r)*p^r*(1-p)^(n-r) right?- MathMan2022

Finding the maximum size of an Initial Value Problem coefficient
Sure, If I do a dsolve in Maple on the IVP I get the following solution seen in the screenshot. But how should I got about finding the maximum size of v? If T(40)=37? Thats what I am unsure on.- MathMan2022

Finding the maximum size of an Initial Value Problem coefficient
The following IVP diff(T(x), x) = v/200*(45 - T(x)) + 0.015*(22 - T(x)) where T(0)=39 Describes the tempetatur T in celsius at the time x of a tub filled with water. A tub which is filled with hot water at rate of v l/min. Lets say I am told that a guy takes a 40 min bath, and during those 40...- MathMan2022
