Quantum Electro Dynamics, the quantum theory of the photon, describes the photons interaction with electrons and this is what I beleived created the electromagnetic field. However recently I've heard a disscusion that virtual photons and their interaction with electrons and the polarization of...
It's a rather sad thought to know that in this life time we might not have the technology to know how significant life is in the universe. However given the size of the cosmos it is mathematicaly rational to consider it is occurring in every galaxy, even if the detials are differn't ie; the...
It's just extremely unfathomable, the size and distances of the universe. I can never get over the fact that we are drifting through space right now on a very small planet. It's an awe inspring thought to think that the universe has reached compacity and complexity to understand its' self...
Our planet is a microscopic particle amongst the cosmos. Most people don't consider were drifting in it on a daily either. It's bizarre to come into the full recognition of societys primitive mindset. Not trying to be demeaning, my point is we can't even fathom how big, or our place in the...
Thanks for your response. A thought to add, I recently read a book by Lisa Randall a theoretical physicist who suggests the possibility of our universe existing as a brane in a higher dimensional spacetime.
So what would the model be of prior big bang vacuum? Obviously you need a vacuum for these fluctuations, however wouldn't the laws of physics not be defined yet?
So it would seem that quantum fluctuations would only be relevant after the vacuum was already in place? We certainly need a broader understanding of non demensional existence prior to the big bang. Hypothetically speaking assuming the vacuum state would have always existed in a state...
