Hey Everyone,
So I was doing some homework and one of my solutions was
500.0000000000139x10^-9 m
It wanted us to find the wavelength of doppler shifted light at a low speed and so the change is very small from the initial wavelength of 500x10^-9 m
I was wondering if there would be...
whenever i think about the age of the universe compared to the size of it i get frustrated. how can a 50 billion+ light year universe fit in 14 billion years of space? my younger self said nothing can go faster than light so the universe couldn't have grown more light years in size than years...
i don't think these extra dimensions are necessarily spacial. think of how different time is compared to spatial dimension. the unseen dimensions are beyond 3D comprehension. you can see them just the same as you can't "see" time. we can survive seeing only 3D so have no need to see more...
Lets start with energy
kinetic energy is given as
Ke=0.5mv2
m is the mass and v is the velocity you throw the ball.
you can play around with this equation to see how changing the mass velocity and energy affects everything else. if you throw each ball as hard as you can it would have the...
yeah i thought about it and concluded that the Forces in each case are not the same. in the first case where the block is stationary the deceleration would be much higher than in the second case where the deceleration would be less due to the moving block. the moving block is kind of softening...
wow thanks guys! looks good venkatg, similar to what i came up with.
i went a step further so please check my algebra :)
momentum conservation: mvi=(M+m)vf ----1----
so... vf=mvi/(M+m) ----2----
conservation of energy...
Homework Statement
Problem from the book:
"A 7 gram bullet, when fired from a gun into a 1 kg block of wood held by a vise, penetrates the block to a depth of 8 cm. This block of wood is next placed on a frictionless horizontal surface, and a second 7 gram bullet is fired from the gun into the...
