Looking for a part that can lock a spherical bearing.
1. I looked around on the internet some more after posting the question, and a ball-joint is closer to what I'm looking for) 2. The handle is inside the sphere completely. 3. the force would be pushing against the handle on the inside. 4. Significant movement: It needs to move freely and...- MichelKS

Looking for a part that can lock a spherical bearing.
For context: I'm building a handle that needs to rotate in all directions. The handle will be placed inside the spherical bearing - and the bearing will allow it to rotate as it's required to. The handle will also need to be able to be locked in place at angles chosen by the user. Whatever...- MichelKS

Controlling torque output from a flywheel
I may have been wrong about it turning at a constant speed. The force output needs to remain constant, so if the load decreases then the reel would need to accelerate, correct? The system might be built like this Manual crank (energy in) -> Flywheel -> clutch? -> reel -> cable/rope/etc -> load...- MichelKS

Controlling torque output from a flywheel
The transmission? I suppose the clutch would decouple the flywheel from the reel?- MichelKS

Controlling torque output from a flywheel
Question Is there a component that controls the torque output from a flywheel so that its output is constant? Context: Parts: 1) An engage/disengage switch 2) A cable reel 3) A flywheel 4) A mechanism to control the torque output from the flywheel. Process When the switch is...- MichelKS
