Need desperate help with organizing/taking notes.
Thanks to everyone for their advice. I've been traveling for the past few weeks and didn't have time to respond. This semester, I'll definitely be reading the texts a lot more to keep myself current and ahead of what's discussed in class. I'm also going to reach out to the upperclassmen to get...- milhous

Need desperate help with organizing/taking notes.
Just finished Physics I and II, and getting ready to start Thermo/Stat Mech, Wave/Particle Theory (Modern Physics), ODE, Electronics lab, and a Cryptography elective next week. When I look back at how I took and organized notes, I feel that I wasted a lot of time shuffling through loose leaf...- milhous

Any Opinions on the New Online BSEE at Stony Brook
Very cool that they're offering full degrees online now. Stony Brook is a flagship school in the SUNY system, and their math and science programs are highly-respected. As with offering any new degree program, they cannot become accredited until the first class graduates. A similar thing happened...- milhous

Schools Funding a Physics Engineering Club at my college.
Looks like you already have a Physics and Astronomy club at your school. Why not reach out to them and use their resources to expand the range of activities? http://clubs.appstate.edu/pandaclub/- milhous

Do University Physics Departments allow EE Ph.D.'s to teach Physics?
I'm a 2nd BS Physics student with a strong interest in Computer Science. I probably won't have time to double major, so I'll have at least a CS minor along with the Physics degree. I'd like to enter doctoral studies afterwards, and it's a toss-up between Applied Physics and EE. My career goals...- milhous

Usage of the title, Physicist: Is it based on job title or academic degree?
Yeah, I should've prefaced that I wanted a US-centric perspective, as I don't think those titles are applicable here.- milhous

Usage of the title, Physicist: Is it based on job title or academic degree?
Is the title of Physicist restricted for use by Ph.D.'s only? Could one with a B.S. in Physics be referred to as a Physicist?- milhous

Programs Pursuing 2nd bachelor's degree-need advice
I'm in a similar situation as you. Moved to CA a year ago for a job hoping I could take classes at UC, but the state is broke, impossible to apply as a 2nd BS applicant, and is expensive taking classes without matriculation. I wish there was a school that offered a Physics program in the...- milhous

US school suggestions for second BS in Physics
Cool, thanks for the advice! I started reached out to one of the state schools where I'm from and was surprised to see that they had a great Physics department with many of their grads going to the top schools. Tuition's cheap too. Wish I knew this 10 years ago!- milhous

US school suggestions for second BS in Physics
Hello. Longtime reader, first time poster. I'm 28, and graduated from a decent school in Philadelphia in 2005, though I wasn't a very good student--mostly a lack of maturity and discipline. Having obtained a BS in Information Systems has led to work in various IT careers that haven't been too...- milhous
