Can a Nuclear Reactor Power a Space Station?

I don't know about international treaty, but I do know that the U.S. has satallites in space that have nuclear reactors on them with weapons grade material on them. As well as russia and china are also supposed to have satillites with nuclear reactors on them...

Can a Nuclear Reactor Power a Space Station?

First off, I want to thank you all for you input, and any others that fallow this post. Most of you point out that while you could, the big problems would be getting it there, and what happens if it falls out of orbit. I don't have an answer for the getting it there part, but as for...

How does the weight of a car's wheels affect its acceleration?

First off.. this is a really silly question. Ok, yes, the wieght of the wheels can make a diffrence but in your senero there is not enough of a weight diffrence to matter much. As for who gets to 60 first, who ever is the better racer, and has the better engine.

Can a Nuclear Reactor Power a Space Station?

Is A Nuclear Reactor A... I am not sure if this is the right forum or not, I figure its about space stuff so it might be. My question is, could one safely use a nuclear reactor on a large-scale space station. Of course there is the issue of shielding, but since space stations have to be...

What Would Happen if a White Hole Collided with a Black Hole?

Stricktly speaking... Its not likely to happen. A present a white hole is only hypothetical, but since a white hole is the exact opposite of a black hole, then if they collided it is likely they would nutralize each other. Kinda like when matter and anti-matter come togather.

Physics or Imagination: Which Drives Progress in Science and Technology?

Really... You state my, and many of the others who posted here very clearly. First off, I have never heard the terms heretics, and blasphemers used to describe anything outside of some kind of religion, and then there only used by zealots. What about this part of your statement...

Physics or Imagination: Which Drives Progress in Science and Technology?

Both ARE important, all I ... All I wanted to know was which one each of you though was needed more. I never said that you didn't need both, without either one you could not advance. Well I suppose you could advance without imagination, but how far do you really think you would get without...

Simple Space Travel: Can Magnets Help?

Ok, I am not the kind of person who likes BIG words, so this is all going to be simple. My question is this, what would happen in you polarized the haul of a spaceship say negitive(Doesn't really matter if its neg or pos), then generated an opposite field of energy behind. It would act like...
