iPad note-taking apps for organizing mathematics study materials
You can try Evernote. Though, I don't know if it provides cloud backup. Otherwise, you can try OneNote. Since being a college student, I find that it has more features than I require...which is a good thing, I guess. Also, if you have an outlook account, you can store your notes on OneDrive.- Modest Learner

Difference between flip-flop truth tables and excitation tables
Truth Table tells you all the possible combinations of inputs and outputs. Whereas, an excitation table tells you the inputs required to be applied to the flip-flop to take it from the present state to the next state. Alternatively, an excitation table tells you the inputs you require for...- Modest Learner

Calculus Is Thomas' Calculus a good textbook for first-time learners?
What kind of statements are you referring to? I've not made any claims. Nor have I suggested any potential review on the 9th edition based on my 11th edition textbook. I've just given mine review based on 11th edition.- Modest Learner

Engineering Undergraduate books on convex optimization problems
Linear Programming and Network Flows by Bazaraa, Jarvis, and Sherali is a nice book. Other than that, you can try Operations Research by H.A. Taha.- Modest Learner

Calculus Is Thomas' Calculus a good textbook for first-time learners?
I've the 11th edition of Thomas' Calculus. I don't say that it is the best book, but it is a nice one. Other than that, you can try Gilbert Strang's calculus book. Books don't matter much, methinks. Find anyone, and start studying it.- Modest Learner

Engineering Is the 3rd Edition of Art of Electronics Worth Upgrading From the 2nd?
Is it available? What a shame! I bought the second edition earlier this year. *****after checking amazon****** Wow, Rs. 8659. Must be imported edition. But can't they make it cheaper. Rs. 8659 is too high for students like me, to afford. That's practically a salary for teachers in some...- Modest Learner

Differential equations textbooks with many practice problems
How about Tenebaum and Pollard. Or you may want to take G.F. Simmon's Differential Equations with Historical Notes. I had this, and it is a very good book. The good thing is you won't need any solution manual. They give answers at the back of the book (I said answers, not whole solutions, just...- Modest Learner
