Calculating Entropy Change for N2O4 Equilibrium in Constant Pressure Vessel
How would I do that? I tried an ICE table but I don't have the value for the equilibrium constant -----------N204------------2 NO2 I -------(1.0 mol)---------(0 mol) C ---------(-x)---------------(x) E-------(1.0 - x)------------(x) So I'm stuck- molly16

Calculating Entropy Change for N2O4 Equilibrium in Constant Pressure Vessel
1.0 mol of N2O4 placed in a constant pressure vessel at P = 1bar and T = 298 K. The system is allowed to slowly (reversibly) come to equilibrium. Given gibbs energy of formation, enthalpy of formation and entropy (the values are below) calculate the entropy change to the surroundings. N2O4...- molly16

How Do Geologists Determine the Age of Rock Samples Using Isotopic Ratios?
so then Ao = A (1-e^-kt) Ao/A = 1-e^-kt ln (Ao/A) = +kt but I still get the same answer??- molly16

How Do Geologists Determine the Age of Rock Samples Using Isotopic Ratios?
Homework Statement Geologists are able to calculate ages of rock samples through measurements of certain isotopic rations combined with known radioactive decay rates (all such decays being considered to adhere to 1st order kinetic rate laws). Two such processes leading to stable isotopes are...- molly16

Optimization: Maximizing Profit
So: R = (1000x)(2000 - 5x) then Profit = Revenue - Cost P = (1000x)(2000 - 5x) - 15 000 000 +1 800 000x + 75x^2 and P' = 200000 - 10150x x= 19.704 #of units = (1000x) = (1000)(19.704) = 19704 units which was the answer in the back of the book Thanks for the help!- molly16

Optimization: Maximizing Profit
Homework Statement Through market research, a computer manufacturer found that x thousand units of its new laptop will sell at a price of 2000 - 5x dollars per unit. The cost, C, in dollars of producing this many units is C(x) = 15 000 000 +1 800 000x + 75x^2. Determine the level of sales that...- molly16

Simplifying the Right Side of a Fraction Equation
Oh oops. Sorry about that I let x be 0, 1, and -1 and ended up with the equations -A-C=0, 4A+4B+4C=24 and -8A+8B-8C=-68. Then I used equation 1 and 2 to solve for B . I got B=6 but in our textbook (nelson calculus and vectors 12) it says that B=2. I'm also not sure how you would solve for A...- molly16

Simplifying the Right Side of a Fraction Equation
The original equation was: (11x^2-14x+9)/[(3x-1)(x^2+1)] = (A)/(3x-1) + (Bx+C/x^2+1) and I ended up with: 11x^4+19x^3-33x^2+27x = 3Ax^3-Ax^2+3Ax-A+3Bx^4-Bx^3+3Bx^2-Bx+3Cx^3-Cx^2+3Cx-C I wasn't sure what to do after that.- molly16
