Inflation and measurement of cosmic bodies

Hi, Is it true that measurement proves the universe has inflated by 13.8 billion light years, and if so, how do we estimate the age or distance of those measurements? What's giving me pause is my assumption that the oldest light measured (furthest away) is 13.8 billion light years old, but...

I Can Dark Matter Exist in Higher Dimensions?

Will do, here seemed like the right place to ask tho.

I Can Dark Matter Exist in Higher Dimensions?

Ok, those references provide some interesting reading, thank you. The wrong assumption on my part that there is correlation between the darks exists basically because of sloppy naming convention? So, does the dark mean obscured from view in this context, awaiting revelation?

I Can Dark Matter Exist in Higher Dimensions?

Thanks, that's really cleared up some definitions for me. Question regarding the Darks... Is it plausible that DM/DE were not part of the BB, rather pre-existing? Are conditions leading up to the BB being a mystery still? Or is the term "leading up to" not correct?

I Can Dark Matter Exist in Higher Dimensions?

Thanks, got it regarding being used as a conversion unit and that c is a natural constant. Why is c expressed as the speed of light if it's not true?

I Can Dark Matter Exist in Higher Dimensions?

Nice, added to the reading list. It has nagged at me that there is a known constant being the speed of light, and feel free to correct me that this is the point at which matter can change into energy and vise-versa. Dark energy/matter may be outside the bounds of that constant. The speed of...

I Can Dark Matter Exist in Higher Dimensions?

Is it correct that dimensions more than the three (4th being time) that we perceive can be mathematically modeled but as yet remain unobserved? If so, is it possible that dark matter/energy are "elements" which exist in those higher dimensions, and as such remain invisible to those constrained...

Is it possible to connect a Hall Effect Flow Sensor output to a PLC?

I would apply the PWM signal to analog input, via primitive RC filter.

Is it possible to connect a Hall Effect Flow Sensor output to a PLC?

It depends on the output signal from the sensor and the compatibility of that signal with inputs available on the PLC.

How Much Force Is Needed to Compress Air in a Sealed Tube?

I have a tube 40' long by 8" internal diameter, sealed at one end. Assuming an ideal plunger is inserted into the open end, how much force would be required to compress the air (starting at 1 atm) from 40' (1005 ft/cu) to 36' (904 ft/cu)? Any hints as to the calculation required for this would...

Best way to approach this see saw on a turntable?

A textbook would be fantastic, but which is appropriate? There are a few thousand of them and I'm lost as where to start. Thanks

Best way to approach this see saw on a turntable?

Hi forumers! I have a concept for a DSLR boom crane and I want to operate it using stepper motors via belts/gears or pulleys. It will be mounted on a driven turntable bearing on a tripod. The boom acts like a see-saw when mounted on the turntable. The load distance from the apex of the...
