wat is zero point switching?
In ac circuit we want to open the main contacts and specialy in inductive load a huge opposite voltage will induces Ldi/dt cusing spark in the main contacts and zis spark will be harmful if the wave of current in the top positive
But what will happen if we open...

Is the free wheeling diode can protect the contactor contacts from opening sharp spark?
The contactor is used in power circuit of dc series motor..
We always change these contacts bcuz they aging the sysetm consist...

I guess i found the source of the problem as there is a leakage in the air system
The motor work, the resirvoir pressure become 900Mpa , and the pressure switch open the circuit

we have an air comporessor driven by dc series motor direct start the system work and stop many times as the air decrease in the main resirvoir , thus the motor temperature get more hot .
as an electirical engineer i want to protect the motor starting...

As we know the contactor in power circuit make spark when it open and so its contacts may damage and aging
Is it possible to replaace the contactor by power electronics switches such as MOSFET TRIAC and IGBT?
Any help will be appreciated
